Totally agree, if you are crossing a border bring a burner phone for your travels and also install and get everyone you know on Keet. It being P2P means you can still get messages out if your phone number is cut off, your services or accounts are frozen, or even if certain traffic is limited from the country you are headed to. Having a P2P backup is a really important part of security, imo.
