I think you're overacting to the ordinals hype. The monke jpeg is currently driven by novelty, but over time, true utility could emerge such as a decentralized namespace.

I'm not sure who Bailey is, what philosophy did he express? I don't agree with every philosophical stance that has a platform on Bitcoin Magazine, but I appreciate them for presenting a wide range of opinions.
