The "bitcoin tech" in it's form exists since the genesis block, period. Zabo's Bitgold paper was the closest to BTC and he blogged about it long before the BTC paper dropped but "Bitcoin technology" - genesis block.

The bitcoin blockchain started in 2009 so this company obv wasn’t mining it in 1996. However the research into electronic currency began long before 2009.
Yes oc. electronic forms of payment were being played with much earlier. David Chaum's ecash for example. But none of them caught on until Satoshi solved that General dudes problem. Thus NOBODY used the "Bitcoin technology" before 2009. Not in this form.😉
