Yes!!!!
I am reading Atlas Shrugged and came to the same conclusion just this morning about Rearden metal. An amusement to come across the very reference here just now and think about the ways Bitcoin will change society and industry in real life like Rearden metal is intended to do, so far as I’ve read. Bitcoin holds a similar precarious status today. The parallels are uncanny and make for an enjoyable read as I compare the two side by side as the book progresses.
Readen metal carried trains. What does Bitcoin do.
Metal carries trains, Bitcoin carries wealth across space and especially time.
Bitcoin is not and was never needed, although perhaps it helps.
If 5% of Americans (or for that matter Europeans or Brits) took their "money" out of the bank the whole system would collapse tomorrow
I’m not seeing a correlation between bitcoin and collectivism?
Bitcoin is money. When the fact that people agreed on sea shells as units of account for money counts as collectivism for you, fine. I would not call it collectivism but rather a consensus which makes participants agree on which money to use.
