My take on privacy is that censorship resistance is about broadcasts, so there is no assumption of privacy. The DMs should be improved but are no vital part of nostr.

I just think that clients should push more tor and vpn integrations

Websockets and tor is painful

Timeouts suck ...

Clients should be agnostic to be run in TOR but relays appear to dislike TOR exit nodes.

Possibly because of cloudflare, but this can be properly configured with CF, or you can chose to not proxy your traffic and just use DNS (the approach I took).

Agree here. Nostr is inherently public. DMs could be better, but I wouldn’t use nostr for super private messages anyways. To me as long as the DMs aren’t readable by others it’s sufficient.

Host your own relay and give access only to your buddies. Then use nip04/44 encrypted DMs. That's sufficient privacy?

Yeah I mean you could do that. I just don’t really have the need for that type of privacy. Cool that it’s possible though 🙏

I do like the idea of running a friends only relay though.

Web of trust

Which will have many uses, key management being a prominent one.

Privacy, too, although that’s less obvious.

Most people dont use vpn. Dont even know they should. And the DMs 😬

I know I know. And it’s kind like sucks exposing your IP on here to everyone in the 🌍

Big time

Agreed!
