It is what most landlords do. I dont think banks giving out mortgages should allow the renter to pay off their mortgage for the landlord. You should only be allowed to rent out something you fully own.

Banks have no problem with this, after all, the money they're loaning out with the mortgage doesn't even exist until they create it by making the loan...
