Who here likes to cook liver? How can I do things simply to make it as soft as possible?

Baby will start eating solid food soon and I would like liver to be among her earliest foods. Iโ€™ve heard it can be tough, though. Iโ€™d rather not use my food processor if thereโ€™s some magic way of cooking it to be soft.

I like to soak it in milk for a few hours because it mellows out the livery taste. Then fry for just a couple minutes on each side so itโ€™s medium rare. I also put homemade sauerkraut on top.

And mustard

Interesting choice for first food!

High in bioavailable iron. A babyโ€™s iron supply slowly dwindles after birth until they begin to get iron from solid foods in diet.

Itโ€™s also healthy in other ways and Iโ€™d like her to have a taste for organs. I donโ€™t have much of one since I never ate them growing up.

I haven't cooked it, but the milk soaking that's mentioned will help. You could also stew it so it has no chance of drying out at all.

And make sure the outer membrane is gone from my experience. Thatโ€™s the only tough part
