SCOOP: Nigeria appears to have swapped Binance Executive Tigran Gambaryan for US "resources and expertise [...] to fight illicit finance" in a secret deal with the State Department.
Let's be very clear: What the US has deemed acceptable here is that the cost of one innocent man's freedom is its potential loss for tens of thousands of innocent Africans.
Gambaryan, currently parading himself as a victim of the country's human rights abuses, has not responded to a request for comment on whether he endorses the equipping of Nigeria's brutal regime with advanced financial investigation expertise.
The State Department did not respond to our request for comment, but it did delete the announcement of the initiative after our request.
