Maybe at least $100?

Gonna need some hard drives, and an actual box.

One of these with some lightweight linux OS (or maybe openbsd if i want to get into uncharted territory)

If you could find something like this but 8 gigs ram, that'd be decent.

I just want the CPU to be able to scale massively, that's my main concern. Also need to check the i/o

It has a 180W power supply? On for 24 hours a day, 365 days would amount to around €360 p/j for electricity – in the Netherlands (€0,23 per kWh)
