Congratulations! Any (urban) hydroponic experience?

Yes, but only a little. I live in #Illinois, and our soil is amazing (seriously, it's like 98 percentile in the world).

But I have given it a try using #compost tea instead of the proper #hydroponic nutrient mix. It worked but it seemed to grow more slowly and I had to sprout them outside of the hydroponic setup.

If I had the proper rock wool stuff, I'm told I could sprout them in the #hydroponics setup. At some point I might get the correct materials and expand what I have set up hydroponically.

My main souce for info on hydroponics is https://infosec.exchange/@tinker

They put together cheap AF, hydroponics setups, document the results and provide instructions for replicating their setup. The way they do it, they just set it up and then straight up ignore it for a month and a half and come back to leafy greens. It's perfect if you travel a lot, are forgetful or lazy. Very #LowTimePreference!

Tinker is a total #scavenger / #hacker and that's exactly the type of person I want to follow! I even went as far as setting up an RSS feed in Thunderbird to make sure I don't miss any of their #SolarPunk posts! I literally cannot recommend them highly enough.

Wow mate that’s a lot to unpack, thanks a lot! Will take a look at the material. I used to live in #Uruguay with very good soil at my disposal then I moved to Brazil to a very dense urban area, and don’t want to give up growing some of my own food! Appreciate your help!
