I signed up for #Kagi on the recommendation of a few other nostriches, and I'm really impressed with it so far. The search results are excellent, and on point. And the included features make it far and away the best search engine I've ever used. And I've used a lot. I was previously using SearXNG, which is probably the 2nd best now, but Kagi is superior.

The beginner plan includes 300 queries per month, which is probably sufficient for me, but it scales up if you need additional capacity. Check out a free trial at https://kagi.com

ikr?!

I love everything about it. If I search for the best bitcoin wallet, it creates a "listicle" covering the 5 best wallets. It's just so smart. And it's smart recommendations based on a query are actually useful, and have introduced me to some things I'd never otherwise find.

its really such a relief after watching Search deteriorating

I remember being so disappointed with the Brave Search. They had a great opportunity to deliver something really amazing, and gain an instant following due to its integration with their browser. What they delivered was so mediocre and unimpressive. I had been using SearXNG for the past year or so, and I like it because of how it brings so many different data sources into a single interference, but it was lacking intelligence, so you really needed to know what you were looking for, and how to best access it using bang commands. Kagi does it all, and its integrated intelligence makes it simple to use.

(((kagi))) (peak metasearch engine)

1. wut?

i like it, but i needed more

the only thing i don't like nostr:npub1xsgymm0ne3vndqpvsvy285qfpu59049t5n5twg9vetmt92cyn95snyzazx is the search plugin seems to block the browser's top sites/history suggestion stuff, maybe i have misconfigured something

It hasn't interfered with my browser top sites. I think the only purpose of the browser extension is to make sure Kagi is default search engine. I didn't really see any other functionality in the extension. Perhaps nostr:nprofile1qqsrgyzdaheuckfksqkgxz9r6qys72zh6j46f69hyzkv4a4j4vzfj6gprpmhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0vn246z can weigh in on this?

This looks very interesting, seen the name crop up a few times now...will check it out👍

It's definitely worth trying. I think they give you 100 free queries to test it out. I knew by the 25th query that I'd be signing up for for their beginner plan (which is 300 queries per month). If I use 200 in a month that's a lot, so I knew I'd be good with 300. Anyway, set it as your default search engine and use normally. See if you don't love it!

Will do....nice to see that although they need an email they actually recommended simple login and email aliases😎

Yep, I use SimpleLogin and it worked just fine. I didn't notice that they recommended it, but I'm glad to know they're looking out even on their registration! It's a good sign.

I believe they are looking at how to do private payments as well. Agree these are good signs👍

Hopefully their time spent on Nostr will open their eyes to Lightning. I'd love paying my monthly invoice with sats!

Hey nostr:nprofile1qqsrgyzdaheuckfksqkgxz9r6qys72zh6j46f69hyzkv4a4j4vzfj6gprpmhxue69uhkv6tvw3jhytnwdaehgu3wwa5kuef0vn246z! When will we be able to pay our invoices with Lightning? Adding Bitcoin as a payment method would be awesome, and Lightning is the best way to facilitate it!
