Completely agree. I’m at some multiple of engagement here, with less than half the followers. Now we just need to figure out how to get the rest of the populace here.

I still struggle to understand how all Bitcoiners from Bitcoin Twitter aren't flocking here yet. I'll say there's a very large portion here, maybe even the majority? But where's the rest of them? I don't get it.

💯

People tend to stay where they believe they have influence since influence usually = potential income.

Twitter has non-Bitcoiners

Gasp.

What gasp? Your question assumes we should drive headlong into a deep echo chamber

He’s not implying *only* bitcoin twitter come here. He’s just surprised that so many in bitcoin twitter aren’t yet. I guarantee you Derek wants nostr to grow FAR beyond bitcoin twitter.

Currently it's a Bitcoin echo chamber so currently some Bitcoiners don't want to come. Future non-bitcoin nostr users don't seem to enter into this.

Frankly I'm baffled by this idea that all Bitcoiners need to leave Twitter. They should do what they please. Twitter is still running. It's fine. What am I missing?

I can understand being hesitant about it. Any thing that claims to be “decentralized” should be scrutinized deeply. That being said, its still a million times better than twitter.

They feel tied to twitter and their following. Also possible that some aren’t as much of an early adopter as they’d like people to think, tried nostr, but were turned off by the rough edges.

Well, fintwit isn't here, as well as the politicians.

So it isn't as easy to just re-post some macro guy's chart with a bitcoin spin on it. And you can't really confront politicians directly here.

For some it's not that interesting, for some it's the main reason they are on twitter.

Also at times nostr looks like a beta-testing group for nostr clients and feels kinda narrow. But this will most probably fade away.

Media embedding experience is still inferior too.

It will take time, but we can expect some "censorship events" to help along the way.
