I’m not concerned by the apple marketplace issue at all. It sucks for #[0] because he is putting a lot of work into Damus but I’m seeing a lot of dramatic posts that I just don’t feel myself as an iPhone user. 1) There are other Nostr clients that are not currently under the microscope. 2) There are web clients, not my preference but they probably work. 3) Nostr clients without zaps are still fine, alot of the clients (not as popular) don’t have zap functionality yet, nor will every every specific purpose client “need” zaps, and Nostr was uncensoreable before zaps. As long as you can send QR codes to each other Nostr can facilitate a btc economy that is not even at risk. 4) We are so early. I kinda have to believe we are dealing with a dumb bureaucracy, that doesn’t “get it” as Nostr grows they will or else they will be routed around. There will be others that “don’t get it” don’t be discouraged this is what a paradigm shift looks like. 4) As far as I can tell apple isn’t going to be able to stop you from becoming an “iPhone developer”, forking #[1] code that is #opensource and releasing it to your own device. If needed I will investigate this, sparked by Damus and the delight in circumventing authority. But I’m a noob so please correct me. The marketplace is a sleek distribution channel. But software was distributed widely just fine before app stores. This is not a serious threat of real censorship IMO. 5) Sure, I can use a different device as well. My computer running Linux, a different phone, etc. This is a battle for #[3] his time and his vision for his app which is stellar. And it’s a fight for convenience of self and of onboarding others. It’s not a fight for Nostr or the fate of civilization. Just my opinion. #grownostr

wish i could be so optimistic!

i see that as the bureaucratic hell of big greedy corporation which has no understanding what it’s doing 🤕
