Thinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic to link with my GrapheneOS Pixel. Primarily for exercise tracking and Spotify control without using the phone. Seen a £75 refurbed deal.

Good idea, bad idea? I've been watchless for years. #asknostr

My wife got me an Apple Watch for my birthday so I’m fully captured. I was watch free for years but turns out they are quite useful.

Having the btc spot price in the Home Screen can be very distracting though šŸ˜‚

Using a Pixel to begin with is a bad idea. Adding more shitty tech won't help

I would be interested to hear how you get on. I have a pixel on graphene and was looking to do similar. The guys on Self hosted podcast got it working with a Garmin

It's going well. A few phone permission setting adjustments. Google Play Nearby devices was the major unintuitive one. Big wins are having Spotify playlists downloaded to the device and being able to play via Bluetooth headphones on the go without the phone. Exercise tracking works well. Still can't get GPay or Samsung Pay working for virtual cards, like as on Graphene in general but otherwise great.

mmmm Ok sounds like a fun experiment to try out. I too shall now be searching for a refurbed watch!

Where did you buy your refurbished Android watch?

Amazon.

Bugger they are on my banned list of WEF supporters and partners. Will have find one elsewhere

I have a Seiko kinetic. It's great. Never runs out and doesn't track me.

As for fitness tracking, I think that's overrated. If you are doing further your 6 probably don't need to worry about tracking it

If you don't want to be tracked, you could check out watched that are supported by gadgetbridge.
