I don’t discuss crypto in meatspace very often. The only orange pilling ive done is encouraging people to take a 2x tip if its in sats.
Stupid me. One of my supervisors is a Bitcoiner, and we have openly talked about stacking (in non-numeric terms) in front of co-workers a few times recently. And I've tried orange-pilling another co-worker pretty hard for about a year. I know, I know... I need to just shut my trap!
Funny how these conversations about Bitcoin and privacy remind me of something I’ve explored in my writings about rural life: the importance of discretion and self-sufficiency. In the 1930s and 1940s, in many rural communities in Spain, keeping certain things private—resources or decisions—was a matter of survival, not just convenience. Now, in the digital world, Bitcoin seems to invite us to recover that mindset: protecting what’s ours and being cautious about what we share.

I ran into an issue orange pilling once, learned a big lesson.
I never talk to random people or new acquaintances about money, politics, or security. I’ve had a few long discussions with good friends and close family about the technology and philosophy of Bitcoin but never including details of my personal situation. I’ve also talked with a few merchants I know well but with no personal disclosures.
I think patience and absence of ego is useful. If every bitcoiner orange pills only two people each year, the revolution will have changed the world in two more decades.
