My main reason for trying Nostr is not because I’m a budding Nazi (my Zein Heil game is weak), it’s because folks there often talk about a Value 4 Value economy and I like the idea.
The idea being you do a thing, then people send you cash based on whether or not they like the thing. This being outside of the advertising business model most social media works. An idea I can certainly get down with. I don’t like harassing people about money and people are free to chose how they spent their time and hard earnt cash.
All good right? We all got to eat… However, here’s the funny thing, to date I’ve had more contributions from Fediverse users using more traditional methods (via KoFi and standard banking infrastructure) than I have from Nostr via magic internet money.
It’s important to add Nostr is waaaayyyy smaller than the Fediverse but I post this information as a report from some dickhead playing records on the Internet, it’s a different game to getting my scrotum out on Instagram but the report is valid.
I like both platforms and will report more as they happen in my face, in real time, live. Fact is I’m 300% cooler than Michael Sailor and have much better skin complexion, does he even moisturise?!
