Coffee for breakfast
Olympic weightlifters and marathon runners have different requirements. It’s not a one size fits all solution. Biological variability. Someone lifting weights would ideally eat every ~3 hours to avoid catabolism in any capacity. Someone who lives a moderate lifestyle looking to maximize longevity and minimize Mtor pathway expression may participate in intermittent fasting. Its result oriented, is a better way to look at nutrition. What is your goal? Then work retrospectively from there. Even day to day, your body has different needs. It’s silly to view a system as dynamic as the human body as a system that has the same requirements everyday when your sleep, your calories burned, etc vary.
Intermittent fasting is not the same as skipping breakfast. People with a moderate lifestyle have basic health needs, and this is more of a science than it is an art.
Regardless of the goals, everyone benefits from eating enough nutrient dense food, burning enough calories, and getting enough sleep everyday.
Hey what do I know I didn’t spend years of my life studying this shit
I’m not smart but I always eat breakfast even if I wake up at noon. Not just because I need to but because I’m always hungry when I wake up. Never want to go hangry, ya know.
They take the research and then insist everyone should eat breakfast, but a healthy person with a fast metabolism will naturally want breakfast. If you are trying to lose weight and you aren't hungry, it makes sense not to eat- burn the fat you are trying to lose.
Hopefully, we eventually create the same conditions- i.e. we eat breakfast because we are healthy, have a fast metabolism, etc... but it doesn't make sense to pronounce this meal as an essential. What are your goals? Are you hungry? This isn't an arena where 'fake it till you make it' works.
