Is it specified in some list somewhere what clients (preferred android) that do support giftwraps..

0xChat does, but amethyst?

Yes, amethyst does. Click the spy icon in the text box when you DM someone.

It should be on by default imo.

attention please, if the receiver of dms dont have a client compatible it will result in broadcasting plain-text the content of your private messages without telling you of the errors. Thats ridicoulous and dangerous.
