I LoLed at the first one. Bitcoin is private. If that were true, Samourai Wallet devs wouldn't be facing 25 years for trying to augment it's privacy to bring it up to par with cash. Right now Bitcoin is unfortunately not fungible or private.

If I can pay my barber in bitcoin without you knowing that I did so it’s pretty privat for me. Ever heard about ecash ?

ecash is custodial. It's not trustless.

Using a 2nd layer because the first layer isn't private enough is funny.

You can trace a UTXO all the way back to the Coinbase transaction from the miner... That's not private. Imagine if everyone in the world got paid in bitcoins. That's the problem Samourai Wallet was solving for. Forward privacy...

Monero solves this on the base layer. And transactions are cheaper to boot. Ecash is not necessary to get privacy. It's an additional attack surface. Waste of programming and dev time. Basically broadcasting that LN is insufficient.

6th one says Bitcoin is trustless. Haha, ecash isn't though is it? Can one be rugged?

Literally all the privacy gains of ecash can be had on the base layer with monero...

I don’t care if I get rugged on my spending account as long as my wealth is stored on chain.

Is your spending account the sole way you interact with Bitcoin though? That doesn't include how you acquired it or how you sell it for fiat (assuming you ever do).

Also starting a sentence with, "I don't care if I get rugged..." Is telling in and of itself.

Again the 6th monkey says, Bitcoin is trustless.

Which actually is true.

Therefore ecash IS NOT Bitcoin

I'm back. Last one. The most basic argument.

>If I can pay my barber in bitcoin without you knowing that I did so it’s pretty privat for me. Ever heard about ecash ?

That's true when you use VISA too... Of course when you add trusted third parties you can get additional privacy...

i pay people with my credit card and you don't know.

therefore it's private? 🤔

maybe rethink this one homie.

a transparent chain is not private by design.

The banker does.

hmmm?

whatcha saying?
