That reminds me a lot of the mating dance performed by some birds. Interesting that this behavior evolved independently.
To attract a female, a male peacock spider performs an intricate dance using a stunningly coloured fan attached to his abdomen. 🕷️
If the female approves, he is allowed to mate.
If not, he becomes her next meal.
