Settle an argument for me. BO is always disgusting and should be avoided? Or BO is desirable when you are attracted to the person?
Avoided, but if you need to cover it up with strong cologne or perfume, I’ll take the BO.

You are right. Nothing worse than bad BO covered by strong cologne.
Dragon oil is a proven alternative.
