You dont own shit. Ownership is a lie
Discussion
You will be free to believe that as long as you don't try to steal something other people own. Then you will have a problem.
Yeah and youre free to continue paying property tax on the house you own and if you dont the government will evict you
I'm not clear about your position on property rights. Are you for it or against it?
If you are for it, then my question in the OP is for you.
To remove property taxes, people living in a society that has them first have to become aware of the importance of property rights.
Im saying you never actually own anything. The bank owns your house and car and it can all be taken away.
Ownership is like when you buy a soccerball from the supermarket, you pay once and after that there is no extra fees to keep it, theres no threat of it being taken away if you dont pay protection fee (tax)
Not everyone will have their houses and cars owned by banks. There are those with zero debt or liabilities.
I'm saying you do own things. A social order that knows what ownership and property rights mean will prosper.
To make things more defined, check out Locke's definition of property means and let me know if you agree with that definition.
“Owning” a house is the same as renting. You have no control of the land, all minerals under it are still in the hands of government, any changes made to the house have to have approval first. You are renting control of the property, you dont actually control/own the property
You are describing a political and legal situation that exists in your country.
I am talking about the importance of property rights and how to make a case for it.
