Why is it they always say to turn off cell service in the air? I've never really understood that, except for the fact that your phone can't receive service at altitude anyway.

Beats me brother but i guess it is just a precaution on some aircrafts that are not yet equipped for it

They let you keep on Bluetooth and wifi. My wife usually turns on her cellular well before the plane is on the ground. I think it's all fake news tbh.
