RSS still big in my life

I do think, though it's just a hunch, that decentralized microblogging protocols have a decent shot at becoming what RSS could have been. Not on their own, nobody's non nerd is going to want to manage key apirs for Nostr or host/join a random AP/AT instance.

But Threads and Bluesky seem to be the big platforms outside of Twitter - both of which are on the interconnected decentralized protocol ecosystem - and plenty of other services are planning to implement at least one of the protocols from WordPress & Tumblr to Flicker.

If the social media landscape gets too fragmented it might just end up like email where, while most things would be centralized around a few big platforms, the interoperability is a necessity.
