Bitcoiners and free speech advocates are inherently hopeful people. They are hopeful that they can restore and rebuild a world founded on truth and open communication. They believe that when given the opportunity the good in people will lead us towards a better world. They are also honest and know that that the world is chaotic, and that it can be dangerous. But the alternative is worste and the trade offs are worth it. It’s this hope, that makes the “vibes” here more positive.

I don’t know what you mean by “virtually raping families” so can’t really speak to that.

Death threats, rape threats to family members, people being the absolute worst versions of themselves.

I hate that I read that and my first thought was “pfft whatever they’re almost always idle threats” because so far I’ve been lucky all threats against me by people on the internet have been mostly idle. What a fucked world.

It’s really sad. What would prompt people to behave like that when that’s not how they behave irl? And now we even know that people here behave differently than on bluesky or twitter.
