What do you need an account for? I just plugged and played the 2i2 since i got it. Though there are some settings you can mess with for optimal quality without an account
Yeah, it's a real pain in the ass. I have a very old Focusrite and it just works but I'm not really looking forward to trying to find another sound card.
I have a DSLR that can act as a webcam. It needs a special software for Windows and Mac though and they lock 60fps mode behind a subscription. A SUBSCRIPTION. It’s not even a one time payment to unlock features. Pretty sure there is no need for that on Linux.
Focusrite did this ? Jesus … that of all things should be plug and play.
