The WOT concept is really interesting. Is it solely to verify a person is an actual human or to verify people are who they say they are so you don’t have to meet them IRL?? Or is it so others can vouch that someone is real??

I’ve met several #nostriches that I follow IRL because I make a point to shake their hands and introduce myself unfortunately I can tell by the interaction it’s unnecessary because they’re either going to forget or they don’t care… but we’ve met, so are they in my WOT now?? nostr:note1d4pe3v520n976s9ca2c4zc8le9kdfxu82qljn7gp7mvt85dt5u3qdyrjqu

This data is derived purely from the nostr open graph and as such can't possibly know who is human or who is not. Ultimately, it does not matter: it will surface npubs *you care about* and will remove the ones you don't - whether they are humans or bots.

Oh ok, so it’s an algorithm that pushes content it thinks people would want to see based on the people they engage with?? How is it different than other socials then?

It's not for content. It's for surfacing relevant people (or burying spammers) through an algorithm based on follows and mutes.

Oh ok. What makes someone a relevant person?

Being in the human body. Angels, Gods, and insects wish to have this body.

Yes. But I mean as it relates to WOT 😂😂I’m curious how the algorithm will know to distinguish relevant accounts from irrelevant ones?? If a bunch of people have someone muted does that make them less relevant than others?

Haha all I read was your reply not the note haha

People who are more followed (from the perspective of a given user) will have a higher weight. If you have for instance a note with 100 comments, you could use our service to show comments from people more relevant to you at the top

* we do not provide any content, just the sorting of a bunch of npubs by rank

Ohh ok. That’s really interesting.
