#AskNostr

What does #Nostr need most from an education perspective? Tutorial videos? Written guides? Podcasts?

Keen to hear from everyone, but especially those building tools and receiving feedback from users.

We need a centralized location that houses any and all information on Nostr.

A cheat sheet with the most commonly used terms and their definitions along with a substantial FAQ section to answer any and all other questions pertaining to this protocol.

Leaving the onboarding up to the clients isn’t the way to go, especially since they all have different ways to onboard you. What they think you need to know versus what you want to know.

What locations (if any) come close to what you described? Nostr.com?

nostr:npub15c88nc8d44gsp4658dnfu5fahswzzu8gaxm5lkuwjud068swdqfspxssvx in general there is a lot of galaxy brain dev knowledge that is not documented in the NIPs repo or elsewhere.

In addition to the nostr 101 dev onboarding FAQ above (intended as a complement to NIPs repo), I try to encourage devs to document interoperability knowledge in the nostrability repo

https://github.com/nostrability/nostrability

This is super useful from a dev perspective. What do you think new users need most?

-starter packs

-community champion onboarding of their community

-total elimination of scary things like relays under autopilot, with the option of opting in to mix up the relay selection later on

-gradual onboarding that highlights uniqueness of nostr in a given app

-incentivizing to try out other nostr apps with the same keys

Thank you!

Speaking as a long term only-technical-ish user, a guide for what is established and likely to stick around; I have half-learned new ideas only to find they become outdated or deprecated for something else. I’m slow, so I find things move before I’ve got my head around them. I still haven’t got a zap setup working - there’s just too much choice, churn and complexity, and I think I’m afraid of abandonment and/or footguns

Nostr philosophy, the why nostr exists, what problems it solves.

time/

?

solutions take time to go thru the wash

data still compiling

Educational game, maybe

Guides on choosing relays and media host providers by themselves. Everyone expects them to be free. And free will just take them right back to a centralized Twitter, but on Nostr.

If people are unable to understand and choose relays, we have not changed anything in social media.

This is EXACTLY what I'm after. Thanks dude, keep being awesome.

More circular zap economy. More V4V. People will truly learn Nostr when the zaps start rolling. No matter how complicated it is at first.

So something like Pablo has built where users can receive zaps immediately, albeit custodially?

Yes, that's definitely a possibility. But there is much more potential. We should start to attack the job market, i.e. be a LinkedIn competitor.
