When moving from BTC to Monero trust is generally required for the trade with some exchange or service, & anonymity is often compromised, fees are often high. Exchange rate volatility is a problem & holding Monero long term is financially costly, so things being built on/for Bitcoin will tend to make more sense.
Discussion
Its the same like with any xrp and eth folk, you cannot fix them with arguments. They need to get so rekt they will curse the day they were sold those scams, only then people start to think. For now he will shill monero and pretend he doesn’t understand what I say
And you have no response except a stupid meme because you know I'm right.
You need to perform mental gymnastics to claim Monero is a shitcoin, but an arbitrarily printable and ruggable IOU token is not.
Ecash is not Bitcoin. How many times do people like Calle have to repeat themselves?
Nobody claims ecash is Bitcoin. People know its an iou, yet a new monero npub comes to teach us we are not sovereign because we dont use your shitcoin 😂
You claim monero is not a shitcoin, yet you get rugged monthly. You losing purchasing power against Bitcoin and can only use new npubs cuz people give zero shit about the noise you make. Keep crying.
I'm the same person doofus, but I know you are block happy with anyone that disagrees with you and you blocked my main like a coward
Oh ok, then you can just apply that same logic to any shitcoin you hate:
"Yea, we all know it's a shitcoin, so don't save in it, but we just use it for [insert: privacy, stablecoins, smart contracts, etc, etc, etc here]
...here comes your next 🥨 logic justification on how that is different from using ecash! 🍿
Oh no I the same guuuuuy dont muuuute you pusseeey me Im just selling you best privacy solutions why people are so closed minded assholes use my monterø its gonna rugpull you but yo privacyyyyy 😭
You seem to be new to atomic swaps and DEX (like most Bitcoiners).
The lack of need for such tools made you lazy.
When moving from BTC to Ecash trust is *always* required for the move and *indefinitely* after until you go back to BTC.
Several P2P Monero atomic swaps already exist: BasicSwapDEX, UnstoppableSwap, and Samourai implementation. SeraiDEX and Haveno releasing sometime this year.
The potential reduction of anonymity when using exchanges or services applies to any crypto including Bitcoin. It's not unique to Monero or intrinsic to it.
Exchange rate is pretty close to market for instant swaps if you use an aggregator...for p2p I agree it can be a little pricey, but just solve that by making instead of taking an offer if you value cost over speed.
If you personally fear volatility, which can swing both ways (against you and in favor of you), don't hold Monero long term or just keep a small pool like a checkings account. This way it doesn't effect you or is negligible.
Don't get me wrong. I think Ecash is an objective improvement over custodial wallets like WoS. But I don't think Monero and Ecash are in competition since they are solving different problems.
