"EU use of cash and crypto may be criminalized

The European Union is likely to "criminalize" the use of crypto and physical cash in favor of its Central Bank Digital Currency due to new anti-money laundering laws, according to Gunnar Beck, Alternative for Germany MEP.

The proposal, voted on by the European Parliament, prevents Europeans from spending over €7,000 in physical cash in a single transaction and bans crypto transactions to pay for goods and services worth over €1,000."
