My #minibits wallet is hemmed up. Everytime I open it I get a pop up that a new update is available but I can't update and it's just frozen

Happened to me and i posted about itvfpr 2 days and ehh i just stopped using it. Others were having the same issue. I drained it and haven't use it

I just tried mine. it updated and everything is working normaly.

maybe the ol phone reboot will work?

I can't help with this, but you have a Merry Christmas nostr:npub18dlusgmprudw46nracaldxe9hz4pdmrws8g6lsusy6qglcv5x48s0lh8x3. Appreciate the friendship.

Wait like 30 sec. It's having some issues with it freezing up. But if you wait a bit you'll be able to go to Settings. It may freeze up again when you do. Just wait again and go to the update. It might take a while but you should be able to eventually run the update. Then, hopefully, it'll be resolved after the update. Mine is working normal again.

I did some network related changes on Minibits server, you might retest if it helped. To get the proper result, please test with Minibits as the only mint (to avoid that freeze remains caused by similar issue on another mint server).

That didn't help for me. I uninstalled, reinstalled and recovered from seedwords. Now it's working fine again 🫡

Maybe it was a different issue. The last thing i did was to optimize ecash proof, which worked. After that the wallet was freezing 🤷‍♂️

Do you remind how many ecash proofs did you have before running the optimization? It runs in batches.

Will monitor the issue, pretty sure that the freezing is caused by network connections over ipv6 to hang out but not failing.

Ipv6 is now properly configured on minibits reverse proxy server, so hope it'll be gone.

It was quite high, something in the range of 80. After optimization is was 26 or so

Oops i did it again. #minibits wallet freezing after optimization.

Anyways, have a great new years eve / happy new year 🫂🚀🎉

Thanks for reporting. Seems like the process succefully completes, will try to simulate it on my end.

Anyway, from wallet performance point of view, no need to optimize unless above around 1000 proofs or you need to export a smaller backup.

Good to know 🤓 maybe i should stop doing it so often 😂

Thank you 🫂

I am aware of the issue, based on help with debugging from user experiemcing the issue seems to be network related issue - wallet freezes as a result of very slow but not failed network connections that resolve after 10-20s.

It's random nature, I could not simulate it unfortunately. I have a hypothesis it is caused by ipv6 connectivity issues.

Will try to reconfigure the reverse proxy tonight and see if it helps and does not break anything else.

Update. The freeze was a very extended delay. Had to open and leave open until it unfroze and allowed me to update. It did used to be pretty quick but lately has been slow to operate. I'll see if the new updates help

Thank you. Freezes were very likely caused by hanged requests to minibits server. Hopefully will be gone after the changes I did on server side (no need for app update due to this so far)
