Not sure if we have a mobile iOS signer app yet
0xChat should* be fine to input your nsec into for now
*it's always best to use an extension to manage your nsec for security reasons

It's probably not the end of the world, but I think you should avoid it if at all possible. I don't know anything about iOS, but if there's a signing app available, like Amber for Android, that would be safest bet. I know the Android version of 0xChat provides an option to login with Amber, so perhaps there's a similar option for iOS?
how i I connect 0xchat to Amber?
ive installed both but it just opens 0xchat permission screen, i select a permission level and cannot proceed after that?

When you first login to 0xChat there should be an option to login with Amber instead of using your nsec.
yes i clicked that, and then it took me to the permission screen as i mentioned above, and can't proceed after selecting one of the 3 permission levels

You want to approve basic actions. And it looks like maybe you're using a larger font because there should be some buttons below that to accept your selection. What version of Amber are you using?
Oh wait you're using iOS? Amber is only for Android. I don't know anything about iOS so I can't help you. Sorry.

Lol I thought you said you used iOS but I just looked again and it was someone else who was asking the same thing as you. My mistake. Clear out your 0xChat, delete your account so it's like new. Then open it fresh and there should be an option to use Amber instead of your nsec when you first register.

There should be buttons below that to accept your selection. Maybe you need to scroll down? What version of Amber are you using?
logout. use the amber to login again.
