Do you mean a mobile client dedicated to that style?

I suppose there isn't enough demand for it? Communities are basically like having a Tumblr. Which is quite nice. They could in theory function like subreddits if people decided to use it, client made them more or prominent or the clients who don't even currently have the function, adding it.

But yeah I think I agree. A mobile client that went for the opposite of what they all seem to do now... communities / subreddits as their main format, with the twitter style as secondary would be interesting. Do you think Communities as they are now could do what you want, if they were in a dedicated app?

That's why I never got into Twitter. Because it's just people following fucking celebrities.

Like I don't care what a celebrity thinks or says that's not interesting to me at all. That's not valuable to me.

I want to follow topics and communities that Garner discussion.

I'm just a random jackass on the internet so is everybody else. And I feel like this whole idea of following people just makes it like a dumb popularity contest where people just say whatever the fuck and it's not interesting or insightful or anything like that.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for random nonsense and talking shit.

It just makes me think like I'm sitting on a bus waiting to get to my destination and some guy behind me Whispers in my ear out of nowhere:

"I've always preferred Linux to Ubuntu. But after I installed Ubuntu on my old college laptop, I think I'm gunna switch permanently "

Yes, I can totally see this. And pnmich agree.

Reddit/forum format on topics is a different feel to following people twitter style, and it does somewhat get around the parasocial problem.

It's something the satellite .earth dev also mentioned, which is promising.

I used it a while ago, but it stopped loading for me for some reason and I haven't bothered doing a hard refresh on it. Was a bit clunky, but it was a bit ago, so not sure that's a fair comment. I'll check it out again maybe? Should I?

Just had a quick look now and seems to be working. I find it a bit confusing, videos and images are insanely large on posts, doesn't even show the communities I'm a member of, looks like they don't exist lol. No idea why ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ Maybe the dev hates me 😭😭

I like the idea tho. It actually doesn't show the Feed at all right? It only shows posts made within communities? If I'm seeing this right? But is too much of a mess for me to actually use.

#Nostrudel is my current go to/fave.

It could be an idea for it to have an option of making the Feed a community post / hashtag follow feed only. Perhaps that would make it insanely quiet(?)

Thoughts on Nostr .kiwi (?)

I'm not sure it's currently all that useable (for me at least), but I quite like seeing it as a conceptual client.

As far as I can tell, it only shows nores which were posted in communities and completely does away with the 'twitter -style feed' which most clients seem to be going for. Maybe I've got this completely wrong kiwi doesn't seem to be working all that well for me lol. But that is how I see it. Satellite . Earth also seems to be playing with this idea but more prioritising community posts rather than completely doing away with the twitter note feed.

Anyway I'm at work and posting a lil thought on kiwi, and how this sort of approach could eventuall, potentially, hopefully... solve the main nostr complaint - The B!tcoin Tourettes syndrome Chatroom dilemma (BTC for short).

But as someone who doesn't know what they're talking about I wonder how much of this post is a load of shite lol;)
