Do you mean a mobile client dedicated to that style?

I suppose there isn't enough demand for it? Communities are basically like having a Tumblr. Which is quite nice. They could in theory function like subreddits if people decided to use it, client made them more or prominent or the clients who don't even currently have the function, adding it.

But yeah I think I agree. A mobile client that went for the opposite of what they all seem to do now... communities / subreddits as their main format, with the twitter style as secondary would be interesting. Do you think Communities as they are now could do what you want, if they were in a dedicated app?

I do bang on about it. But that sort of client would also potentially solve the complaint that it's 'all b!tcoin chat' on nostr.

At least a noob will see a whole bunch of unused groups, better than an endless stream of b!tcoin chat lol

there are better ways to solve this

What do you reckon? I'm just chatting shit lol.. but I am curious what real people are thinking/ doing to solve this. A client that prompted default hidden words of b!tcoin +isms?

we already have word filters for amethyst and relays

when people first join they need a choice of follow lists, we also need seperate lists so we can for example have ones for different types of users, say like me i follow 1200 but only really like 10 or 20 and would prefer them on another list

we could then also have seperate lists for moderation, say a list of users that only report spam, or users that report bitcoin etc(report is the wrong word btw hide or flag is better)

communities like subreddits should be the topic ie a #tag and a chosen group of moderators, then everyone can use the same topic #tag but have their own moderation

i like these ideas but think groups of users that moderate together entire platforms or topics will ultimately become the new sudo communities, where they enforce a similar curation because they share the same desires

people will be able to switch between these user lists and algos(sorry forgot that) and see which they prefer, likely day to day they may change preference

i think many will stop being babies about words and only remove spam, but i am biased as thats me now, getting triggered by an arrangement of characters or sounds is absurd, threatening violence for such even more so

Yes I do. And yes a dedicated mobile app. I guess the thing for me is, I don't like to follow 'people '

I just don't fucking like that idea. I can't really think of the words right now. But it just seems so self obsessed do you know what I mean?

That's why I never got into Twitter. Because it's just people following fucking celebrities.

Like I don't care what a celebrity thinks or says that's not interesting to me at all. That's not valuable to me.

I want to follow topics and communities that Garner discussion.

I'm just a random jackass on the internet so is everybody else. And I feel like this whole idea of following people just makes it like a dumb popularity contest where people just say whatever the fuck and it's not interesting or insightful or anything like that.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for random nonsense and talking shit.

It just makes me think like I'm sitting on a bus waiting to get to my destination and some guy behind me Whispers in my ear out of nowhere:

"I've always preferred Linux to Ubuntu. But after I installed Ubuntu on my old college laptop, I think I'm gunna switch permanently "

Like? Really?

Are you fucking crazy? Did you just get out of the mental hospital today? Why the fuck are you talking to me? Who the fuck are you what is going on right now why are people just shouting out random thoughts.?

It's fucking annoying.

I know hashtags help a bit but uhhh rant over

Yes, I can totally see this. And pnmich agree.

Reddit/forum format on topics is a different feel to following people twitter style, and it does somewhat get around the parasocial problem.

It's something the satellite .earth dev also mentioned, which is promising.

What do you think about nostr kiwi

I used it a while ago, but it stopped loading for me for some reason and I haven't bothered doing a hard refresh on it. Was a bit clunky, but it was a bit ago, so not sure that's a fair comment. I'll check it out again maybe? Should I?

Yea I don't see why not

Just had a quick look now and seems to be working. I find it a bit confusing, videos and images are insanely large on posts, doesn't even show the communities I'm a member of, looks like they don't exist lol. No idea why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Maybe the dev hates me 😭😭

I like the idea tho. It actually doesn't show the Feed at all right? It only shows posts made within communities? If I'm seeing this right? But is too much of a mess for me to actually use.

#Nostrudel is my current go to/fave.

It could be an idea for it to have an option of making the Feed a community post / hashtag follow feed only. Perhaps that would make it insanely quiet(?)

Yes that's a good idea

Oh my fucking God 😓

yeah frankly there is not much reason to follow anybody except me.

other people can't really say anything of value.

Keep it up.

Fandom killing spree’s are great

But how a gringo claim?
