I used to work in digital marketing. This was the book my director made me read. Look at the title 😂. If you want users to use your product then you have to give them a seamless experience. Asking them to jump through hoops on nostr to get sats and set up a lightning wallet before they have experienced any benefit in your product is a lot to ask. People are more retarded than we think lmao. The early adopters like us jumped through the hoops initially because we were already sold on the merits of nostr: freedom of speech, v4v, bitcoin. But most normies don’t understand or appreciate these things😂

A lot of the same issues apply to Bitcoin adoption as well. The UX is bad but NGU is powerful enough to overcome that. Is freedom of speech important enough for people to use nostr? So far no because a lot of Bitcoin influencoors are still on twatter haha. We are low time preference visionaries that see what nostr can become; that makes us truly unique 🫡

The title is hilarious.

As early adopters, we only had to jump through the hoop of using earlier versions of nostr clients, a year and a half ago. We didn’t have to jump through hoops to get sats though. The user experience is night and day compared to then.

But again, 2 apps is noob friendly.

Online banking for example:

-login to bank app

-get a 2fa code via email

-open email, copy code

-paste code on bank app

Objectively, using a banking app is a pretty seamless experience. Damus + WoS (or another wallet) is same difficulty level. (And lets say a user doesn’t care for zaps, his experience is even easier)

I dont think the issue is the ease of use. I think people are too attached to legacy social media. Seems like westerners dont care about censorship resistance (if i dont have anything to hide, why do i care type of mentality).

There is merit to what you’re saying. Maybe it’s a combination of all these factors.

Definitely. And wether they come now or way later, we still get to use it
