This is how Facebook started off. Everyone started following others even if they didn't have a whole lot in common. It was just to have stuff to read on the feed.

As it got more popular people started unfollowing the people they didn't have in common. Then their friends and family joined and they unfollowed even more.

Eventually they only followed their friends and family and a few others because that's usually the only people that matter and trying to follow a lot of people is not enjoyable.

I suspect this will happen to on nostr as it gets more popular and eats up all the social media.

I will do the same too eventually. It's a good sign.

For me, 150 seems to be a manageable number of people to follow. Much more than that and I can't keep up. So I want meaningful content I can relate to, though I don't always have to agree 💯. I like to be challenged, and I can admit when I'm wrong.
