It depends on who is thinking long-term. It could be 10, 20, 30 years or more, but it will happen.
Resources are not on space exploration any more. It will take 100 years or more if in the meanwhile the people don't decide it's not worth it.
We'll see. 100 years is an extremely long time with today's pace of development and AI.
Don't count on AI to invent something.
OK, I wish you success. Invest in gold and property if you are so bullish and hope that for the next 100 years gold will be the most valuable asset on earth. My money is on something else.
I learned in my now long life that everything that turns into a religion is pushed from outside. Remember, layer one is not your and never will be and no one of you knows an alternative. When they will decide to turn off the light we will be with the water we have in our storage, the food that is well preserved and the tools and knowledge we will have at hand. Internet is a temporary thing and will go away as every other past technology.
I invest is energy production, power storage, alternative to gas and diesel, food production and water storage and adequate filtering. With Covid it worked quite well and I didn't have to change my lifestile or accept their request. Then of course it could turn so ugly that not even that will be enough.
