But that's kinda the point. To some degree even if you're not literally getting what is said the point of reading is to start spinning ideas, get yourself digest and integrate them over time. Supposedly, the writing is precise and there is a right way to interpret them, but its a bunch of entangled ladders and halls of mirrors to get there 🙃
