How many of you #monero #xmr people run their own node? over tor? secure the network? utilize it for payments? use other cryptography utilities like pgp/gpg? learn as much as you can about good #privacy practices? not get bogged into divisive politics and is more embracing of difference? also not be obsessed with line go up tunnel vision?

i think i technically run one as part of the desktop client... πΉ
yes! I personally like feather wallet because it is lightweight and I just run a node on an old raspberry pi
Count me in.
Also I am huge advocate for Bitcoin, Monero and opensource privacy tech in general.
I won't let my friends and family suffer from bad tech.
good stuff.
the internet is an inherently non-private space, but it can be! It's about building the good practices and knowledge for interfacing properly and in line with important human and community rights.
I just recently created a pgp key on an offline tails with kleopatra. But what to do with it now?
many purposes. sending an encrypted message to someone else or receiving one from someone else, or signing a non-encrypted message. for example you can sign a non-encrypted text with your email, nostr public key, whatever [username] on [whatever service]
that way through the history of usage it's easy to be connected in a sea of anonymity.
Just created it out curiosity. Thanks for the examples. I surely have to learn how to actually use it.
For instance see this as an example of a signed message. You then copy paste that including the pgp signature into kleopatra to verify its indeed from that fingerprint.
Encrypt your files, or stack a double encryption mode - pgp+7zip password -
Get a yubikey and use it with pgp and 2 factor authentication.
Make a wot party πΉ
I think I'll try single encryption first before I start the party. But I could, have two yubikeys laying in my deskπ
This is great, thanks for sharing. Just took a quick look and I think this is what I need. Much appreciated. π€
Okay Fed
Let's see how many of those I check.
1. I do run my own node.
2. Over the Tor network.
3. Mining to P2pool nano
4. I'm kind of militant about buying everything I possibly can, priced directly in Monero.
5. Somewhat understand GPG, at least as far as verifying hashes and stuff now.
6. Love learning about new privacy tech.
7. Try not to get involved with politics for the most part. Although I guess sometimes I could be better about it.
8. Am anti-moonboy. Xenu would be proud.
