I am using nostr.build to upload images including my profile picture. If you go the site, you can login using a DM on amethyst to confirm. Then within the app you should be able to upload pictures to nostr.build. There are other ways as well.
This is the way. There is even an option that will format your picture optimally for your avatar 👍
It seems to just keep sending me to pay wall. I'm not trying to pay to just put up a profile pic
Go to the login option in the menu. Put your npub in the npub spot and click log in via nostr DM. It will send you a DM with a code to log in. They have a free tier, no need to pay.
I kept trying but it didn't seem to be working. I got the dm but then sends me right to the paywall and I don't see any free tier?

It does have a free option for sure.
You can use any image host though. Any web link to an image will work.
I get a message saying it can't verify npub?
