Updating Amethyst nuked my followers, was there a quick fix or do I need to follow everyone? (At least I got custom zaps now)

I wonder if you're seeing my Damus (old iphone) list or Amethyst (where I've switched over now but am having to refollow)
I'm seeing a count of about 1200 followers. This 1200 is more about their client than yours. Even if you're client can't see them, those 1200 can probably see you.
I can also see you're only following 5 npubs. This to me seems odd & may indicate that you've had a client send an update with an incomplete list of your follows (people you want to hear from).

Yes, I wrote it wrong, I mean I lost all the people I followed & manually had to start adding them back

Restarting from scratch
Nostrgram has a tool to get them back. On the profile page.
Go on Nostrgram. On your profile page, next to the ✏️ settings there is a button to restore a backup of your follows. Super useful
Go to your profile on nostrgram.co you can retrieve it. 🤙
Nostrgram.co has that function
Go to profile settings, press on green icon. There you'll see the your follow history. One press and you can refollow them all.

That's for recovering your Follows. It's a super useful tool although may not be useful in this case.
I think Mags is talking about followers.
The count of your followers is a complex task & involves your client literally counting the npubs that have you in their follow list. It's unlikely they've been lost, more likely that Amethyst has just not found them yet.
I recommend not giving a shit who's following you & focus on sending & receiving a strong signal. I lost my follower count on Amethyst too but then 69 were found 😂 🤷

Download the https://getalby.com/ browser extension so that you can manage your private key securely.
You then want to go to your profile and click the little green button. Find the point where you follows got blasted and restore them from a time beforehand.

They are there. Just takes some time sometimes after an update to appear in your profile again.
