Practiced my timber framing joinery skills on a much needed mudroom shelf for the farm boots. It's super fun and very rewarding to see the end result knowing how much work went into this project, despite the many cosmetic flaws and imperfections.

I cut the cedar trees ~2 years ago, milled them here on the farm, stacked them to dry last summer, designed the shelf and joinery, and did most of the work with hands tools.

Don’t take this the wrong way. But this gave me a raging clue.

hey I got one of those saws

you have a little woodmizer or...?

I wish. We hired in a portable sawyer with a TimberKing.

I can only imagine how good those smell when working on them.

Looks really great man, nice work

This is the content nostr didn’t know it needed 🤙

“despite the many cosmetic flaws and imperfections.”

Bro, if you own a saw that looks like that you are already a better woodworker than most people. If I can’t eyeball a cut and use my battery powered circular saw or sawsall to make the cut, then the project is too detailed and/or intricate for me.

That is a lovely shelf and you should be proud. 👍
