If you travel only the interstates you'll get a lot of that. It's homogenized into it's own culture.

Most Metro areas have a similarity but a very different rhythm to the ebb and flow of it's people.

Example- Phoenix is similar to LA (generally regarded as a bad immitation of it)

But compare LA to Seattle to St Louis, to Nashville to Boston and the differences grow.
