People who don't fully understand all the tradeoffs love to flaunt around their cockyness on the internet.

PSA: if you're not using a VPN, each time you scroll past me in your nostr feed, I'm logging your home IP since you're querying my NIP-05 json.

If that does not bother you, I don't know what else to tell you...

Can providers see the HTTP contents if I use HTTPS/SSL?

This is retarded advice. If you're going to tell people not to use a VPN servoce, then also tell them how to host their own VPN so their IP address isn't leaked to every webservice they access.

This post completely misses the point of a VPN service: to hide you home IP address from the website you're accessing.

Telling people they only need to hide their IP address when they want to access services belonging to non-government-sanctioned adversaries is just plain wrong. Is this post a CIA psyop to dissuade people from encrypting their traffic?
