My grandfather taught me to make our red sauce with a whole serano pepper in the sauce (with the stem on so the sauce doesnt get too spicy from it) then when the sauce is done you put some sauce in a mug and smash the serrano pepper up in there and thats the sauce the men use on their pasta.
