What solutions are they offering alongside their bots? If none, they're just asshole spammers. Positive consequences dont change that in my mind. I agree that it's good to handle them. But they're still assholes. They could help in ways that dont ruin the experience for users if they really cared that much.

They aren't and they don't have to. The same way a QA department doesn't have to recommend fixes for the bugs they find.
That's not even the same comparison. QA doesn't go and introduce more problems for the users by exploiting the issues they find. They report the issue they find in their own testing environment. You can disagree all you want. They're assholes. That's my opinion. Like it or don't, but I'm not buying the nobility angle.
People say the same thing about QA, "the user will never do that".
There is no testing environment in nostr, we test in prod.
The network will be better for this, mark my words, we will be better at eliminating spam than the centralized networks.
Asshole spammers are gonna asshole spam I think it's fair to say that's a fact of life. Asking or even demanding them to stop will at best do nothing, at worst increase their effect. They live to piss people off.
Fair enough. That's why I call them scum. It isn't really helpful. They could help without causing annoyance for users if helping was the goal.
