What do you think of the following: on your timeline you have a feed that lets you instantly change network perspective: bitcoin to work to friends to food etc

*Toggle/button, not feed
How does having different relay sets guarantee different topics?
Great question - you are the first to ask this.
My interpretation of toggle between relay sets means different views of the network (similar to astronomy).
Right now critical mass is bitcoiners, so I cannot guarantee different topics even if you switch to an entirely different relay set.
I was drawing an analogue between e.g. commie mastodon, and bitcoin hackers mastodon where the views would be different (again not a guarantee on different topics).
Interest-based relays have been a topic of discussion for some time. There was even a design bounty for a client to support that.
I’m not sure how that would be implemented as there’s no way to stop someone going off topic, but that is one of the use cases the community would like to see built. I believe #[5] is kind of heading in that direction with Habla.News if I’m not mistaken
Yes. Part of the motivation behind relay sets is interest based relays, as you said.
Because a quick and easy relay toggle doesn’t exist yet we have not yet discovered if / how much a quick toggle gives you different content.
The relay sets example in the story is all pre-defined sets.
What if we inserted a bit of randomness and asked how can you completely change the perspective by minimizing relays that I use, users I follow, topics I frequent etc.
I’m still trying to figure this one out - I’m only really using Damus, and I see a feed of notes, but have no idea which relays each note comes from. Would be nice to be able to toggle relays on/off and see how that affects the feed
