While testing the @satscard by @coinkite #[1] I came to the conclusion that, inflation aside, there is no difference between this card and a bunch of cash. You can pass #bitcoin along multiple times, without having to use the #blockchain. It’s game-changing. Review coming soon! #satscard #nfc #card #btc #cashinhand

I am bullish on satscards applications 🤙
Not sure about this whole thing. But I don’t really like the idea of satcards.
Can I ask why? And, have you tried It? I’m trying to find downsides to it. For now the biggest is that if you lose the card, you lose all the btc in it. There is no way to backup it. Which is probably a good thing.
To me it’s like printing an email, putting it in an envelope, buying a stamp, and handing it to someone. Just send them the email.
Nothing wrong in doing it, but it doesn’t make sense.
Nobody knows the private key and it always changes when you use it, I think this is one of the major differences compared to anything else. Tonight I will use it to buy some bitcoin with cash, at a pizza day meeting. I can still verify, but I don't need to bring any cable, app, wallet or whatever to receive the Bitcoin. It's so frictionless.
Satscard is really interesting. I wish it was easier available in Europe.
With FedEx it arrives in about a week, from Canada to Europe. It’s not fast as Amazon, but it’s a good service with a very precise tracking and possibility ti buy customs fees online (very low).
Too expensive though, isn’t it
Super cheap. Starts from $6.99… The cash in the photo it’s just to show how powerful this little card is.
Well, if I use the card as the equivalent of $100, I'm paying a 7% surcharge. Not really there yet to be used as a medium of exchange. Maybe when prices go to $1/card.
It may cost a few dollars, but it's a "device" and a protective case that costs to manufacture. Anyway, it's still definitely cheaper than the average hardware wallet and insanely more secure than the average software wallet. For small payments like $100 dollars I think it's better lightning. SATSCARD is great for a gift idea, bigger sums and also don't forget that you can re-use it up to ten times. So when you are passing it to somebody, the counterparty must understand that there are more than 1 slot and that benefit should be included in the transaction, I think.
SATSCARDS are massively underrated
Takes time
Exactly! Going to bring this tomorrow at the Pizza day (they do it one day later, don’t know why) where I will probably buy some sats by exchanging cash. Much lighter than an hardware wallet, no need to charge it, no need for an app if I just want to receive. It’s becoming my favorite bitcoin product…
