What’s funny is most of the “progressive/left” bitcoiners I know are incredibly skeptical of Wall Street and the ETFs showing up, as greater attack vectors do government, and more of the self-described “libertarian” bitcoiners (on X) seem to be welcoming of them and mostly talking about NGU

Yet we progressives/left are accused of wanting centralized control in everything?

Progressives were the leaders of Occupy Wall Street before the left got coopted and corrupted by social justice and intersectional wokism to become authoritarian.

The ETF is a necessary evil that is an incremental step to bitcoinization.

I disagree.

But also don’t think it will MEAN Bitcoin is co-opted, but it’s a distraction that we must be vigilant to educate folks about the what and why of Bitcoin.

I agree with that statement. I just don't believe that Bitcoin adoption ever happens without an ETF showing up somewhere along the way. And it's done with now so the argument is kind of moot I guess.

Have you seen nostr:npub1g0587hzzckcncxfm78n0996qe2s58nspy29wf02tqcj5sdzcpj4q6j40hv new video with mark from bitcoin magazine? The WEF and other groups are changing their marketing from progressives to libertarians and conservatives because it's proving more effective. Same trap, different sign.
