I did, even though it was gone from test flight. Think that means I'd installed the "app version" by accident at some point, and cuz of that I was able to find it in submenu of App Store and click icon to update it

Yes. It would not show up anywhere. Search brought up just the TestFlight version.

iPhone sometimes hides apps these days. Mine was in fact not hidden but just lying there on page 5 of apps. I couldn't open it though, but rather than delete I could do what you suggested in App Store and see it in history then clicked the cloud/update icon.
If it’s on page 5, it should show up when you search for it 😳🤨
No my search worked, so I knew to keep looking. Then found icon in wasteland. But couldn't click it so it was useless.
Clicking top right profile like you said, then selecting app submenu, scroll to it and was happy to see update option
